Offering your family a safe and neutral environment

All families go through difficult times but when it is clear the disagreements can’t be resolved – we can offer the opportunity to meet with our Mediators in a safe, neutral environment. Our Mediators can work with the families to support them in reaching agreements and moving forward.

Family conflicts can happen at any time and for a number of reasons. It is normal to disagree and is part of family life but when the conflict is damaging relationships and communication is breaking down; it may be the time to seek professional advice to resolve the issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are just a few of the most frequently asked questions. If you do not find your answer below, please feel free to get in touch.

We recognise that different stages of family life cause conflict as well as family events. These may include:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Inheritance
  • Unemployment
  • Caring for relatives
  • Living with adult children
  • Extended family
  • Bereavement
  • Parenting
  • Teenage Behaviour
  • Housing

We arrange to meet with family members to discuss the situation and to support the family to find a solution.

Conflict may be high and you may feel there is no solution but with support we will work through the issues and consider:

Is the issue worth damaging the family

Try to separate the issue from the people involved

Aim to find a solution rather than win the argument

As you begin to discuss key points and options – this will be recorded and when you find a solution this can be written into a family agreement.

We will tailor the process to fit you. For some families only one meeting will be needed. For others additional meetings will be arranged.

The number of meetings you need will be affected by the level of conflict and how the parties engage in the process.

Although we hold a Legal Aid Contract this is purely for divorce and separation work.

Any issues falling outside of this category would incur costs which would be discussed during your initial enquiry – when agreeing costs we would look at each parties annual income to set a rate.

As the process records key issues and options – once agreement is reached we can produce a Family Agreement which records the agreement and how it is implemented. This makes sure everyone has a clear understanding of the chosen solution.
